Three people were killed during the shooting at the Shelby Center science building on University of Alabama campus in Huntsville. At least three others – two men and a woman- are in critical condition, officials have said. The UAH shooting occurred just before 4 p.m.A woman police say was involved in the UAH shooting. The woman has been taken into custody. Her name and identity has not been disclosed except for a Police description that the woman shooter was earing a pink sweater and a black-and-white shirt.
One report says the woman shooter was a faculty member who was denied tenure earlier in the day. Police have not confirmed that report, though. UAH has about 7,500 students. Soon after the UAH shooting, one of the top trending topics on Twitter was “Alabama-Huntsville.”
