Glenn Quinn moved along with his mother

Glenn Martin Christopher Francis Quinn ( Glenn Quinn )was an Irish actor in television and film. As well as having a role as a major character in the television series Angel, he also had a recurring role as Mark Healy in the comedy Roseanne and the short-lived UK series Covington Cross.

Born in Dublin Ireland on May 28th 1970, Glenn Quinn moved along with his mother and two sisters to Long Beach California in 1988. He was certainly proud of his Irish heritage – he had ‘Erin Go Bragh (Ireland Forever) tattooed on his right shoulder and a Harp on his left. Following a series of odd jobs Glen decided to try his hand at acting and met with success quite promptly. His first role was playing a pool shark in the Richard Marx video ‘Satisfied’. His first film was ‘Shout’ (1991) with John Travolta -- in which Glenn had the honor of giving teen-ingénue Gwyneth Paltrow her first on-screen kiss!

Many horror/sci-fi fans are familiar with Glenn Quinn for his showy role as Allen Francis Doyle (half human and half demon) who is sent to guide Angel (David Boreanaz) to his destiny in the WB series ‘Angel’ (1999). Producers killed him off after just a few episodes saying it was “part of the original plan”. However, there were rumors that Quinn lost the role as a result of his increasing problems with drugs and alcohol. Those problems would eventually claim his life.

On December 6th he was given a traditional Irish wake at The Luyben Mortuary in Lakewood, CA. Services were held at Saint Cornelius Church in Long Beach. Among those in attendance were ‘Roseanne’ cast mates Sara Gilbert and Johnny Galecki. Michael Fishman (DJ on ‘Roseanne’) collected donations to help cover funeral costs. Glenn Quinn was buried at Forest Lawn in Orange County. The actor is survived by his parents (Bernadette and Murty) and his sisters (Sonya and Louisa).

Two out of three 17-year-olds is not bad for Mt. Everest. In fact, it's an outstanding ratio. Bel Air met the ballet, Chanel and Wolfgang Puck on July 24 when Robin and Elliott Broidy hosted 360 guests at an American Ballet Theatre (ABT) fundraiser dinner. Co-chaired by Avery and Andy Barth, Lori and Michael Milken and Laura and Jamie Rosenwald, the event raised eyebrows and $325 grand. Four-thousand red and white roses bloomed toward the stars while lilies and gardenias floated in the pool. ABT's principal dancers performed scenes from "Sleeping Beauty," "Gopak" and "Don Quixote" atop a stage covered in cascading ivy and flanked by phalaenopsis orchids. Wolfgang Puck Catering nourished guests Sheriff Lee Baca, Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, Florence and Harry Sloan and designer Monique Lhuillier with sweet corn risotto and miso-glazed salmon, while ladies in designer drapery were careful not to spill.

Woman on the Ice Road Truckers Lisa Kelly, that's all well and good. However, I don't know if the producers are portraying her driving times correctly, or if they are openly showing a gross violation of the "Hours of Service" regulations.

A driver may drive up to, but no more than 10 hours per 24 hour period of time. They may also have up to, but no more than 4 hours on duty not driving. This gives the driver a total of 14 hours before they must shut down for a 10 hour break.

Now last show, Ice Road Truckers Lisa Kelly first leg was 14 hours alone. Then 25 miles across the ice at 10 mph, for 2.5 more hours driving. This gives a total of 18.5 hours. So, what's the deal here? Has Lisa just allowed a producer to show a major violation on television? If so, don't be surprised if D.O.T. mails Lisa a citation. If she ran legal, the show needs to tell the world about her breaks in driving.
